Burgas is located in Eastern Bulgaria, on the Black Sea. The city is surrounded by several lakes, and the Via Pontica bird migration route passes through here. It boasts a beachfront stretching several kilometers, divided into three beaches: “Atanasovska Kosa”, “Burgas – North”, and “Burgas – Central.”

Burgas is a port city and features a Public Access Zone, where large-scale music festivals and concerts are held. The port area is home to the Maritime Station and the International Congress Center, where conferences and events are held. Nearby is also the yacht club, where children learn to sail small boats.

The city has a train station and two bus stations, from which buses depart for destinations throughout the country. Burgas is also a stop on the international bus route to Istanbul, Turkey.

The sunniest airport in the country is located right next to the Sarafovo neighborhood in Burgas. Burgas Airport welcomes tourists from all over Europe. There are currently two year-round routes: Burgas–Luton and Burgas–Sofia. Discussions are also underway with airlines to launch new seasonal and year-round routes.

In preparation for hosting the Eurovision Song Contest in May 2027, new seasonal routes will be launched, allowing fans to fly to Burgas.

You can get from the airport to the “Yug” bus station, located in the city center, by taking bus No. 15 or No. 15a. The route passes through several residential neighborhoods in the city. Buses run from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. The fare is 0.80 euro cents if purchased on the bus.

The city has an integrated public transit system with a night route—Line H—which operates from 11:30 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. and connects the three largest residential complexes—“Izgrev” and ‘Slaveykov’ with “Meden Rudnik.” The fare is 1 €, and tickets can only be purchased from the bus driver.
